Blending and filling services

With our blending expertise we can blend wax to your specific needs, meeting any meltpoint or viscosity requirement in any industry. We work with you, our customer, to understand your needs and create your custom wax.

We have developed products for: Rust Inhibiting, Leather Tanning, Lubricating, Metal Coating, Cosmetics, Thread Coating, Agricultural Products, Food Grade Packaging, Dental Products, and many other industries. We can produce the wax in any size or shape you desire, and will also handle your packaging needs.

Stevenson-Seeley, Inc has a full line of solid, liquid, and powder lubricants used to lubricate mandrels on spiral and convolute paper core machines. We can provide a lubricant to accommodate any core you manufacture. Our line also includes food grade lubricants in solid, liquid, and powder.

Solid

Cerelube is a reliable solid wax-based lubricant manufactured by Stevenson-Seeley. Easy to apply and available in various blends, the Cerelube lubricant is applied to core paper just before the paper meets the mandrel for winding. Cerelube is available in different consistencies to accommodate any climate or temperature.

Liquid

Our extensive inventory of liquid lubricants includes mineral oils, vegetable oils, vanishing oils, as well as soap-based products. Mineral oils have been used for some time in both mandrel lubrication and knife and saw blade lubrication on cutting machines. Vanishing oils are extremely useful where liquid lubrication is required but no residual lubricant is permitted, and in applications where a poly liner is being applied in the inner ply of the core. Soaps have been shown to work well in lubrication of very large cores, including concrete forming tubes.

Powders

Powders, relatively new to the world of mandrel lubrication, were developed for very specialized core producers who needed a dry lubricant that left relatively no residue. Cores that are used to ship posters and blueprints would be a good fit for a powdered lubricant. We offer a full selection of powders, as well the applicators needed to apply them.

We have a wax coating that will fit your needs, from thread and string to cardboard and paper tubes. Our experience working with several thread manufacturers over the years has led us to supply fully blended thread coatings. We have also been successful in providing wax coatings for customers that need to coat cardboard for waterproofing.

Many precision glass and quartz companies require special hot melt adhesives in their processes. Our cost effective product provides the same quality and reliability at a lower price point.
